StandX Perps Overview

Universal Markets. Universal Yield. StandX Perps is the execution layer of that vision: a high performance perpetual exchange where DUSD, a yield bearing stablecoin, serves as the unified pricing and margin asset. Traders earn yield on their margin the moment they open a position, the same productive collateral that powers block liquidity and community market creation across the platform. With SIP-5 Universal Markets, anyone can create, fund, and maintain their own market on top of the same engine, on the way to 1,000,000 universal markets.

Perps are where the vision starts, not where it ends. Perpetual futures already trade at roughly 3.3x the volume of spot (2025, Reuters citing CryptoQuant), yet the largest venues list only a few hundred pairs while onchain assets number in the millions. That gap is the largest unopened space in crypto, and closing it is what StandX is built for.

Margin Yield with DUSD

Our platform supports using DUSD, a yield bearing stablecoin, as margin for perpetual trading. Traders not only gain access to leveraged positions but also earn real onchain yield on their trading margin, maximizing capital efficiency. This design combines the benefits of stable yield and flexible trading, offering users a more attractive trading environment where the margin itself earns.

DUSD is the quote token designed together with the trading system rather than plugged in afterwards. Pricing, margin, PnL, fee routing, Reward Vault, Shield Vault, and liquidation all land on the same unit, so every layer interlocks. Yield bearing margin also reshapes the economics of market making: resting inventory that would sit idle elsewhere keeps earning on StandX while it quotes, which structurally lowers the cost of providing liquidity. That is what makes community market making viable. It is also why StandX is Stablecoin × Perps rather than a simple sum: perps fees and funding feed DUSD yield, and DUSD yield feeds deeper, tighter books.

Built by the ex-Binance Futures Founding Team

This project is built by the core members of the original Binance Futures founding team, bringing deep expertise in derivatives platform architecture and risk management. Before launch, the platform secured institutional grade liquidity and was designed from the ground up with a high performance matching engine and robust risk management systems to meet the demanding requirements for speed, stability, and security.

UI Innovation and Design Philosophy

The StandX interface was rebuilt for a simple reason: a trading system facing 1,000,000 universal markets needs to show completely different things.

The core of a traditional perp UI is the chart, the order book, the order panel, and positions. For mature markets like BTC and ETH, that is enough. In a universal market, price is not all a user needs. They also need to know: who sponsors this market? Is the Reward Vault sufficient? Can the Shield Vault absorb an extreme liquidation? How is maker yield calculated? Where does DUSD yield come from? Does my position qualify for position yield? Is this depth real, or does it just screenshot well?

So the goal of the StandX UI is concrete: make trading more transparent. A trader opens a market and sees their margin, position, yield, and risk clearly. A maker enters a market and sees the reward rules and depth requirements clearly. A sponsor launches a market and sees the vaults, fee routing, and market status clearly. Every role revolves around the same market page, no longer scattered across campaign pages, docs pages, and hidden rules. For 1,000,000 universal markets, the trading interface has to grow from an order ticket into a market operating system.

Within that system, the layout itself is inspired by the game of poker, dividing the interface into two primary sections:

  • The Market Monitor: the poker table.
  • The Execution Panel: the player’s hand.

This analogy forms the core of our design philosophy: the Market Monitor is the shared space where all public information, the flow of the game, the size of the pot, and the community cards, is displayed for all to see. The Execution Panel is your private domain, where you hold your cards, assess your strategy, and make your move.

Depth First, Then Scale

If the goal is 1,000,000 markets, why start with only a handful of pairs? Because liquidity only flows into liquidity. Opening hundreds of thin markets on day one looks lively but serves users poorly: a pair without depth only gives worse fills. So before SIP-5, StandX concentrates on making a few markets genuinely deep, with BTC order book depth that has held more than 800 BTC within a 10 bps spread. Listing markets one by one is addition. Handing the right to open markets to the community is multiplication, and SIP-5 is the gate that lets markets grow on their own.

Perpetual Contracts on StandX

StandX’s perpetual contracts are denominated and margined in DUSD, a yield bearing stablecoin issued by StandX. This design allows users to earn on their margin while trading, significantly improving capital efficiency by combining stable returns with leveraged trading.
