From Block Trades to Universal Markets: How StandX’s SIP Evolution Is Redefining Perp DEXs

the more i look into StandX, the more SIP-5 feels like something people are sleeping on

at first, i thought it was just another perps protocol adding features one after another

then i started reading through the SIPs and realised they’re all connected.

SIP-1 wasn’t just about Block Trades it solved a real problem: moving large positions without destroying the order book. it wasn’t the kind of update that generates a lot of hype, but if you want serious traders on your platform, that kind of feature really does matter

then SIP-2 came along and basically asked: “why should margin just sit there doing nothing?” now, open positions can earn yield from protocol fees

then SIP-3 was where the light bulb went on for me instead of DUSD yield being completely separate from trading activity, they started feeding perps fees into the DUSD yield pool that’s when it stopped feeling like a stablecoin sitting beside a trading platform and started feeling like both products were actually connected more volume more fees better yield more liquidity

then came SIP-4 (Block Options), which turns take-profit (TP) and stop-loss (SL) levels into tradable onchain rights instead of automatic triggers Block TP: earn a premium by selling your future take-profit opportunity Block SL: buy protection with the right to exit at a set price without being forced out by a wick

fast forward to today, and we’re talking about SIP-5

honestly, i think this is the one that changes DeFi forever

permissionless markets

not “wait for the team to list something”

not “submit a request and hope”

just create markets yourself

StandX is enabling the community to create markets for assets like long-tail tokens, pre-TGE projects, onchain events, and other settleable markets

the goal is simple: remove listing barriers and let the market decide what people want to trade.

SIP-5A is already live with Community Maker Yield, and i honestly think it’s underrated.

a lot of protocols say they reward liquidity

StandX is trying to reward useful liquidity

liquidity providers are rewarded based on actual market quality, things like uptime, depth, and how competitive their quotes are. that feels much healthier than throwing emissions at liquidity and hoping for the best

then SIP-5B introduces Community Vaults, which feels like the missing piece. now the broader community can actually help fund and support markets instead of relying on a handful of sponsors

strategy vaults

reward vaults

shield vaults

each serves a different purpose, but together they make it easier for people to participate in the ecosystem without having to take on every responsibility themselves

when you zoom out, it’s kind of insane.

from Block Trades to: Position Yield, DUSD Yield Expansion, Maker Incentives, Community Vaults, and now, Permissionless Markets.

it feels less like a series of separate upgrades and more like they’ve been building towards the same destination from the very beginning

maybe i’m early

maybe i’m completely wrong.

but if Universal Markets works out, we’re not talking about just another perp dex anymore

we’re talking about a platform where anyone can create, fund, and support markets on almost anything

that’s a much bigger idea.

join the community of standers.

don’t just be a follower.

be part of the change.
